Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys was left speechless after a child comedian swore during a live interview on the breakfast show.

Sylvia and her co-host David Campbell interviewed father and son duo Laddie and Lehmo on Monday after a video of them telling jokes on a cruise ship went viral.

The 38-year-old then asked Laddie what his joke was about and was left in shock by the seven-year-old's response.

'You told your favourite one on stage, didn't you? What was that one about?' Sylvia asked.

'It's about blind sh***ing his pants,' Laddie responded before Sylvia covered her face and burst into laughter.

An amused David said: 'I didn't realise he worked blue. I can see why you got the gig. So it's an over 18 event I bet.'

Laddie's father is established comedian Anthony Lehmann, 54, who once hosted a popular Triple M drive-time program with Wil Anderson.

It comes after Sylvia recently revealed her secrets for creating the perfect family holiday.

The Sydney-based mother-of-two shared her top recommendations for crafting the perfect family getaway based on her recent trip to the Gold Coast in May.

Writing for Nine Travel, the media personality explained how revisiting childhood locations allowed her children to create their own special memories while fostering a sense of tradition.

'The 5 kilometre jog back to Surfers Paradise was powered by my excitement that my children were about to begin building their own core holidays memories in the place where I forged mine,' she wrote.

'Sometimes a big dose of the "familiar" is just what the doctor ordered,' she explained.

The media personality also emphasised the need to strike a balance between children's enjoyment and parental relaxation.

'Successful family holidays depend on a little quid pro quo,' she admitted.

'We all know the balance tends to tip heavily in favour of those most likely to tantrum, but us mums and dads have got to take the wins where we can get them.'
