Finding out your best friend is dating your ex sounds like the start of a tacky rom-com - but for a group of Sydney's most elite women, it's no work of fiction.
And who is the leading man in this messy saga? None other than Michael Clarke.
The former captain of Australia's cricket team, 43, recently hit the headlines when he went public with his new squeeze Arabella Sherborne, 32.
While Pup may be on cloud nine as he swans around the Gold Coast with the ample-chested Sydney Sweeney lookalike, there's a handful of glamorous ladies back home who are quietly seething over the development.
The reason for their resentment is simple: these women at some point were romanced by Clarkey before he moved on with someone else from the same tight-knit social circle.

One source tells us the 'tea' on Michael is that he 'worked his way through' several members of Jade's social circle 'before he ended up with Arabella'.
To make matters worse, Arabella allegedly had a front-row seat to all the relationship drama the other girls experienced with Michael - 'only for her to end up with him!'
The group in question includes Jade Yarborough, who was his girlfriend for about a year; socialite Jaclyn Sainsbury; and Rique Miroshnik, who is the ex-wife of plastic surgeon and so-called 'Boob Job God' Dr Michael Miroshnik.

The insider added: 'Jade is not friends with Arabella. None of the girls are [anymore]. She has been blocked by them all on social media.'
The last trace of a public friendship between Jade and Arabella was in March, when Jade left a gushing comment on one of Arabella's Instagram posts.
'Happy birthday Aries Angel xxx,' she wrote. Arabella liked her comment in response.
When contacted for comment on Tuesday afternoon, Michael declined to answer questions about his love life and simply wished our reporter 'a wonderful day'.
Clarkey is no stranger to relationship drama: in 2008, he proposed to model Lara Worthington (née Bingle), only for their engagement to fall apart in 2010 amid rumours of a diamond ring being flushed down a toilet.

Months after ending things with Lara, Michael began dating his long-time friend Kyly Boldy, whom he would marry two years later in May 2012.
They announced their separation in February 2020 after a decade together.
His next girlfriend would be Pip Edwards, the founder of trendy activewear label P.E Nation, and they dated on and off for about a year.
Next up was interior designer Jade, but their relationship imploded amid rumours Michael had enjoyed a secret rendezvous with Pip.
Their almighty row about Michael's alleged indiscretion was caught on camera during a Christmas holiday in Noosa with the Stefanovics.
After calling time on his romance with Jade, Pup dated Rique Miroshnik, then moved on with his current girlfriend Arabella, who is 11 years his junior.
Arabella has worked for Scentre Group, the owner and operator of Westfield in Australia and New Zealand, for more than two years.
She previously held the same role for the company in Brisbane for one year before making the move to Sydney, where she now lives.
Arabella was raised in Brisbane and attended a grammar school in the city before attending the University of Queensland, where she studied international hotel and tourist management.
As well as her high-flying real estate career, Arabella also has a budding presence on social media where she frequently shows off her lavish lifestyle.
