A beloved Sunrise star will be making a permanent return to the popular Channel Seven breakfast show from Monday.

Co-host Matt Shirvington, 45, revealed on-air Friday that their beloved Cash Cow mascot would be back next week, with lots of cash prizes up for grabs.

'Monday's going to be huge. The Cash Cow is back and there's going to be plenty of cash to giveaway,' Shirvo told viewers.

Co-host Natalie Barr, 56, then quipped they would be 'milking' their mascot for all she was worth - and passing the proceeds onto lucky viewers.

'It's time to say Moo-chas Gracias to our gorgeous heifer and milk her for what she's worth! I am so excited to welcome the Cash Cow back to Sunrise.'

Meanwhile, Channel Seven confirmed the news in a statement: 'After a brief graze in the paddock, Cash Cow is back and she's bringing a cash pool with her.'

They added a large sum of money would be given away every day next week to a lucky viewer.

'An udderly impressive $5,000 will be given away every day next week. However, if viewers don’t answer within three rings, the amount will continue to jackpot.'

From Monday, viewers will be able to enter their details on the Sunrise website, for a chance to win.

Cash Cow previously offered giveaways to viewers, with a chance to win as much as $10,000.

This was normally done by viewers finding a code word and entering the competition via SMS.

Back in April 2022, the lovable mascot was retired from the show for a surprising reason.

There was no editorial decision made to drop the Cash Cow, but instead she was forced off the air due to changes in SMS premium services.

However, as viewers will now be entering the competition online, this will no longer present an issue.
