'To infinity and beyond': Tim Allen CONFIRMS his return to beloved role of Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5... after he was left out of Lightyear
Disney is getting the band back together for a fifth installment of the beloved Toy Story franchise.
Buzz Lightyear himself, Tim Allen - who is facing allegations that he exposed himself to Pamela Anderson on the set of Home Improvement in 1991 - confirmed the news on Twitter on Wednesday.
'See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond,' Allen wrote.
His tweet also seemingly confirms that Tom Hanks will reprise the role of Woody in Toy Story 5.
The news comes as Bob Iger has returned to the helm at Disney after an era of doing spinoffs of Toy Story - including last year's Lightyear in which Chris Evans voiced Buzz - rather than continuing the main storyline.

It was claimed that Allen was left out of the last Toy Story because of his conservative political views.
Actress Patricia Heaton, who is also a conservative, took aim at Disney last year.
'Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?' she tweeted.
But those involved in the Lightyear movie say it was a creative choices.
'Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear the toy,' Lightyear producer Galyn Susman stated, according to Yahoo.
'We weren’t making a Toy Story movie. We’re making Buzz Lightyear’s movie.'

This casting news comes as Allen, 69, is facing some backlash over allegations Pamela Anderson made about her time on the set of Home Improvement.
In her new memoir, Love Pamela, the blonde bombshell said The Santa Clause star flashed his genitals at her in 1991 when she was 23-years-old.
'On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe,' the Baywatch star wrote.
'He opened his robe and flashed me quickly - completely naked underneath,' she continued.
The Silk Stalkings actress, 55, had appeared in Playboy by the time she took on the role of Lisa on Home Improvement.
'He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked,' she revealed. 'Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.'
The Last Man Standing actor denied the allegations and took a shot at the Barbed Wire star.
'I would never do such a thing,' Allen told Variety, adding that what Anderson claimed 'never happened.'

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail, the Christmas with the Kranks star said, 'She was a great co-worker, I'll tell you that. She's a fun girl.
'Everybody loved her, but everybody at ABC is a little disappointed in her… memory, put it that way. All of us at Disney/ABC, really.'
Anderson responded to Allen's denial in an interview with ET Canada, saying, 'He ran back into his room and then he was embarrassed all day and acting like a little giddy school boy.'
'You can't make that stuff up. How could you make that up?,' she added.
