Controversial columnist Jason Whitlock has accused the 'entire WNBA' of corruption, claiming Angel Reese's record-breaking double-double streak is a 'gimmick' orchestrated by players and officials.

The podcaster also claimed that the Chicago Sky star is given preferential treatment to Rookie of the Year rival Caitlin Clark.

Reese continued her historic run on Wednesday, securing a 14th consecutive double-double in the closing seconds of the Chicago Sky's win over the Atlanta Dream.

Indiana Fever star Clark has also broken records this season and the two are battling it to be crowned Rookie of the Year.

But Whitlock believes 'the entire WNBA is in on the Angel Reese gimmick'. And he even reignited the argument that Reese and Clark are treated differently because of their race.

Jason Whitlock claims Angel Reese's record-breaking double-double streak is a 'gimmick'

'The racial idolatry... do you see people bending over backwards - not on the Indiana Fever - to help Caitlin Clark?' he asked.

Whitlock highlighted the last-gasp foul that allowed Reese to score the point she needed for a double-double on Wednesday.

'They're up seven points with 12 seconds to play,' Whitlock said. 'In 99.9 percent of games... the other team doesn't even defend you. They let the clock run out and everybody goes into the locker room.'

Instead, the Sky players pass the ball to Reese, who is fouled - much to the delight of the crowd  but much to the frustration of Whitlock.

'When I watch this clip, the ref seems to be in on it - because this whistle seems real quick to me,' he continued.

'You don't have to call that foul. Nor do you have to commit that foul. That's why I'm saying everybody is in on it... that's the Atlanta Dream bending over backwards.'
