Lamine Yamal's family were left in tears after his incredible goal in Spain's Euro 2024 semi-final win over France on Tuesday night.

Yamal inspired Spain's comeback victory with a wondergoal from 25 yards that flew past Mike Maignan and into the corner of the net.

The 16-year-old sensation celebrated wildly after becoming the youngest goalscorer in Euros history, and his family in the stands were overcome with emotion as well.

Footage has emerged of his sister, Baraa, crying as her mother, Sheila Ebana, hugs another family member in the wake of Yamal's remarkable equaliser.

Dani Olmo went on to score the winning goal four minutes later, with Spain holding on to book their place in Sunday's final thanks to a 2-1 victory.

After the final whistle, Yamal's father took to Instagram to post a picture of himself beaming with pride outside the Allianz Arena alongside the caption: 'As a father and as a person I thank you Don Lamine Yamal, thank you my son'.

Yamal's family and friends joined him the dugout after the game as they celebrated Spain's victory.

Yamal had already registered three assists in Spain's opening five games of the tournament, but he truly took centre stage in the semi-final, and was duly awarded player of the match.

His family were on hand to watch him deliver on the biggest stage as the teenager proved he is already one of the best wingers in the world at just 16.

Prior to the semi-final, France midfielder Adrien Rabiot had tried to downplay Yamal's impact at Euro 2024 as he told reporters: 'We saw that he [Yamal] was a player who knew how to handle pressure very well. He has a lot of qualities. He is capable of playing with his qualities at club level as well as in major tournaments, without pressure.

'Afterwards, it is always complicated to manage a semi-final in a tournament like that, but it will be up to us to put the pressure on him above all, not to let him feel comfortable and to show him that to play in a Euro final, he will have to do much more than what he has done so far.'

Yamal responded by writing on Instagram: 'Move in silence. Only speak when it's time to say checkmate'.

He gave an even more definitive response to Rabiot on the pitch, and then sent a two-word message to the cameras after the final whistle as he repeatedly said 'speak now'.

Rabiot may now learn to keep quiet ahead of big games, while France captain Kylian Mbappe was left speechless when Yamal's strike hit the back of the net as he simply gave a nod of admiration.

The reaction in the stands from Yamal's family was far more animated, and he now has the chance to become a European champion on Sunday - one day after his 17th birthday - with Spain set to face either England or the Netherlands in the final.
