Luke Shaw claims that Bukayo Saka supports one of Arsenal's main rivals and the winger's response goes viral

Luke Shaw and Bukayo Saka struggled to contain their laughter during a recent live broadcast that went out on social media from inside England's Euro 2024 camp in Germany.

A short video of the pair - which was originally published via England's official YouTube channel - has since gone viral. The clip saw Shaw claim that Arsenal winger Saka was a Manchester United fan.

United are one of Arsenal's biggest Premier League rivals and Saka's response was to deny, deny, deny!


'He supports United,' said Red Devils left back Shaw, before a giggling Saka replied: 'Look at him, he's going to do all this lying again. You're lying bro.'

Shaw then said: 'OK, we won't speak about that...'

But the conversation continued with Saka adding: 'This guy, honestly. How much more can he lie today?'

Declan Rice, who was not shown on screen, was then urged by Saka to provide evidence on his behalf before the viral clip ended.

Saka has previously spoken about going to Old Trafford at the age of eight to watch a Premier League game.

However, that trip to the Theatre of Dreams saw a young Saka and his father sat among the away fans in support of Newcastle United.

Years later, in September 2019, Saka started his first ever Premier League away game for Arsenal at the very same stadium.

Recalling those two experiences in an interview with Arsenal.com in February 2020, Saka said: 'I was standing on the pitch at Old Trafford before the game – it was just my second-ever start in the Premier League – and it finally hit me: I'm in the Arsenal first team.

'I had been here 10 years earlier with my dad, sitting in the away end with the Newcastle fans. My dad has always been a big football fan, he supported Newcastle because he loved Alan Shearer. I hadn't been to many stadiums at all, so it was a big moment for me, as an eight-year-old, to go to a game. But now here I was as a player.'

Saka joined Arsenal in 2008, having previously spent time in the youth system at Watford.

Arsenal are the only club Saka has played for at senior level. He has so far scored 58 goals in 226 appearances for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Shaw has been a Man United player since 2014 when he moved to Old Trafford from boyhood club Southampton.

Shaw and Saka both featured as wing backs for England against Switzerland in their Euro 2024 quarter-final on Saturday.

The Three Lions were losing 1-0 until Saka scored a fine equaliser in the 80th minute. The Gunners star later converted a spot-kick to help England prevail 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

England will now play the Netherlands in a semi-final on Wednesday.
