England supporters spotted Phil Foden and Declan Rice berating Kieran Trippier during the dire goalless draw with Slovenia at Euro 2024 last night.

Despite delivering a limp attacking display for the third consecutive match, a point was enough for Gareth Southgate's side to progress as Group C winners.

But the full-time whistle in Cologne was greeted by loud jeers and Southgate, who was pelted by a number of plastic cups, referenced the 'unusual environment' his players must adapt to as they wait to find out their opponent in the last-16.

The anger from the stands was also noticed on the pitch by eagle-eyed viewers, especially in one particular moment when Trippier gifted possession away.

As the Three Lions' final group game reached the half-hour mark, Foden combined with makeshift left back Trippier and urged him to sweep the ball out to Rice.

Instead, however, Trippier looked to thread a delicate pass through to Bukayo Saka.

The ball was promptly intercepted and cleared out for an England throw-in, prompting an angry reaction from both Foden and the unmarked Rice.

Out on the left wing, Foden visibly pointed towards Rice while the midfielder held his arms aloft and signalled to the pitch, demonstrating the acres of space he was in.

Trippier then appeared to apologise to Rice before taking the throw.

ITV viewers quickly voiced their opinions on the worrying moment.

One X user said: 'Foden going mad at Trippier there.'

A second added: 'Mood not ideal when you've Foden throwing his hands at Trippier like that. "Don't blame me everyone" vibes.'

'All I have seen Trippier do is move his hands telling everyone to relax,' another user said. 'Move the f***ing ball quicker. Even Foden is shouting at you to do it...'

Quizzed on the hostile reception from supporters post-match, Southgate said: 'I understand it. I'm not going to back away from it. The most important thing is we stay with the team. I understand the narrative towards me.

'That's better for the team than it being towards them but it is creating an unusual environment to operate in. I've not seen any other team qualify and receive similar.'
