Lego has joined forces with Universal Pictures to bring a cult classic movie franchise to brick form in a jaw-dropping new release.

In a thrilling collaboration, The Lego Group and Universal Products & Experiences have unveiled the Lego Ideas JAWS set, a stunning brick-built diorama inspired by the iconic 1975 blockbuster movie JAWS.

The eagerly anticipated set, priced at £129.99, meticulously recreates one of the most famous scenes from Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, allowing fans to relive the suspense and excitement in intricate Lego form.

The idea for the remarkable set was originally conceived by LEGO fan Johnny Campbell, via the LEGO Ideas community platform, and will become available for LEGO Insiders from August 3 and for all from August 6.

The 1497-piece set captures key elements and characters from the film in LEGO minifigure form - including Police Chief Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and sailor Sam Quint.

The set's centerpiece is the iconic Orca boat, featuring a detailed cabin with a removable roof, an adjustable boom and rigging.

Additionally, the set includes numerous recognisable accessories, such as a revolver, compass, fishing rod, harpoon, spear, and the pivotal yellow barrels.

Fans can display the set on a brick-built seawater base, with the JAWS Lego shark model attacking the Orca boat.

A printed tile with Chief Brody’s famous line, 'You’re gonna need a bigger boat,' completes this nostalgic and playful centerpiece.

Alternatively, the Shark can be displayed separately from the boat on its own stand.

To celebrate the launch, Lego and Universal Products & Experiences have created a summer "brick-buster" mini-film - titled: "JAWS…in a Jiffy" - which is a 90-second recreation of the cult classic featuring memorable scenes.

Speaking about his design approach, fan designer Johnny Campbell revealed: 'JAWS is my favorite movie of all time, so I really wanted to recreate it in LEGO bricks.'

He added: 'LEGO building has always been a part of my life in some shape or form, but in order to get all of the finer details, I actually freeze-framed JAWS as I watched it so that I could catch a glimpse of the finer details, taking notes as I went along.
