Title: Mental Health Specialist/Therapist

Responsible to: Clinical Director

Employment Status: Full time; in-person

Salary & Benefits: $63,000-$70,000/year salary and eligible for full CERI employee benefits, including: 20 days flexible PTO, 9 paid public holidays, and a 2-week office closure over Christmas & New Year’s; $500 monthly allowances for health insurance; 401(k) with 3% employer match after 6 months of employment.

Job Summary: The CERI Therapist  provides culturally appropriate individual, family and group therapy  to CERI clients. Based on needs identified in therapy or by the CERI team, the Therapist provides clinical care management services at agency, in the community or in the home. The therapist also provides mental health consultation to outside agencies, providers, family members and community members to support understanding of the needs of the refugee and immigrant communities.  

All CERI staff are active in supporting and implementing client services that treat all clients with respect and dignity and include an individualized, strength-based, culturally competent, client centered approach. All CERI staff work as a team to ensure best practices for clients and the agency and have the capacity for self-reflection, humility, respect for difference, ability to manage disagreement and the flexibility, patience & ability to adapt to developing program needs. All staff will attend and actively participate in professional development and trainings to develop skills around cultural humility, providing cultural and linguistic services for participants and trauma- informed services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and family therapy at home, zoom or at the center.

  • Provides coordination of services, advocacy and care management.

  • Offers mental health consultation and trainings to outside agencies, community. organizations, family members, and community members in alignment with the Underserved English Language Population (UELP)  standards.

  • Maintains weekly progress notes for all sessions, including entering all preventative counseling sessions in gateway. 

  • Ensure that all paperwork and charting requirement reports are completed and submitted on time by maintaining progress notes for all sessions. 

  • Participates in group and individual supervision to interns as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Communication

  • Communicates clearly and effectively verbally with co-workers. supervisors, clients and outside service providers. Attends individual supervision and staff meetings.

  • Must be able to comprehend, follow, and clearly convey instructions to others.

  • Computer proficient and be able to work on a computer.

  • Motivated, detail-oriented, team player with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

  • Able to document all services accurately, maintains ISL logs and meets all deadlines assigned
