The Rock praises Seth Rollins, sets his sights on WrestleMania 41

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said goodbye (for now) to WWE last Monday on Raw, but that appearance and subsequent reporting on his pro wrestling future tell us he’ll be back.

In an Instagram video posted last night (April 14), Johnson is out of the Final Boss character he developed for his WrestleMania XL program with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins. He thanks the fans for helping to make this year’s ‘Mania the biggest ever, and making pro wrestling “cool again”.

After a recap of how he’s feeling after working his first real match in more than a decade — “no injuries here” — and an assessment of his performance on Night One of WrestleMania XL, he shouted out his dance partners and teased the future a bit:

“I want to say congratulations to the men I was in the ring with, these guys are the best on the planet. Congratulations to Cody Rhodes, the new Universal champion — as I had said when The Final Boss returns, he’s coming back for you. Gonna make you bleed again, boy (laughs). Congratulations to my cousin Roman Reigns on an incredible three-in-a-half-year run, maybe even four years — just incredible, and iconic, and historic. I’m very, very proud of you, uso. And also congratulations to who I feel is the real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins. Seth Freakin’ Rollins. What an honor it was to share the ring with you three. What an honor it was for us to break records. And now my sights are set on the next WrestleMania. But that’s down the road.”

Great to see the recognition of Seth’s importance to ‘Mania weekend coming from all sides of the business, including a member of TKO’s Board of Directors. Here’s the full message from Johnson:
