Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • WrestleVotes was told that “WWE & the Indiana Sports Corp are nearing a multi-event deal” that will bring Royal Rumble 2025 to Lucas Oil Stadium on February 1. The deal is also “likely to include a future WrestleMania & SummerSlam, which would both take place at Lucas Oil Stadium.”
  • With the exception of Chad Gable, PW Insider confirmed that the rest of Uncle Howdy’s victims on Raw were “all talents brought in as extras by WWE for the segment.” They were not NXT talents, nor will any of them join the storyline as a result of the attack.
  • Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer mentioned that “we’re getting real close to the end” of the exclusive negotiating window for a new TV deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery.
  • Meltzer’s co-host Bryan Alvarez said he’s “99.9999% sure” that AEW star RUSH is not allowed on the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, so that’s why his match with MJF aired commercial-free on this week’s episode of Dynamite. Meltzer added that he heard “CMLL would not be happy with RUSH on that show.”
  • There are early plans for the premiere episode of NXT on The CW network to be held in a major arena rather than the WWE Performance Center, per Insider.
  • WWE filed for a trademark on the name “Caesar Sikoa”, which sounds like a potential new member of The Bloodline.
