Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • While discussing the injury that’s taken Eddie Kingston out of the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing, Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez said, “I believe he broke his leg, but nothing is confirmed.”
  • PW Insider says there are people in WWE who believe the reason why the release of the WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain documentary has been delayed for over one month is because it’s awaiting final approval from The Rock.
  • During his interview on The Masked Man Show, Brian Gewirtz denied the notion that Dwayne Johnson is causing the delay. He said The Rock “isn’t holding hostage until he has approval of every frame.” Instead, Brian says “there was an error in terms of promoting it so soon because it wasn’t ready to come out.” His understanding is that the documentary “will be coming out, in some form, pretty soon.”
  • F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer thinks there’s been some talk of booking Jon Moxley vs. Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP world heavyweight title at next month’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view event.
  • According to Fightful Select, Eddy Thorpe suffered a “freak accident” hip injury in his NXT Underground match against Dijak in December. Thorpe was medically cleared by March and is expected to return to NXT television soon.
  • On Fightful’s The Hump with Sean Ross Sapp & Jimmy Van, it was mentioned that Natalya’s WWE contract is expiring and she is “set to be a free agent in a couple of weeks.”
  • Yasuaki Okamoto, the new president of CyberFight, wants to strengthen the company’s relationship with WWE. CyberFight is the parent company of Pro Wrestling NOAH and DDT.
