Selena Gomez's "Summer Blush" Manicure Is Minimalist Perfection

Selena Gomez has been at the forefront of the simple manicure trend. At the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, the Rare Beauty founder opted for easygoing, classic red nails for her red carpet moment. Before that, the multi-hyphenate debuted an orange sherbet manicure, consisting of just polish, no designs. Her latest nail look follows suit, and it's looking like the simple nail trend is sticking around for summer.

On July 2, manicurist Tom Bachik posted Gomez's new nail look to Instagram, calling it her "summer blush" manicure. When you think of "blush" nails, you'd likely imagine a soft pink polish or jelly manicure. But, Gomez's nail look is actually closer to a naked French manicure. The pink of her natural nails shines through just enough to look as though her nude nails have the tiniest pop of blush, which explains the manicure's moniker.

Bachik shared each step he used to get the summer blush mani in the caption. To start, he used Tweezerman tools to craft the perfect foundation for polish. Next, he used Aprés Nail tips in Gel-X Natural Almond Medium for her skinny almond-shaped nails. Lastly, he painted her color using Aprés Light and Shadow Polish in #608 Could’ve, Should’ve, Would’ve. And, that's it! Her summer blush nails are surprisingly simple, and so easy to get at home with just a layer of nude, sheer polish.

Gomez also wore the manicure to her guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! which was hosted by her Only Murders In The Building co-star, Martin Short. On the show, Gomez chatted about working with Meryl Streep and her new Disney re-boot of her classic show, Wizards of Waverly Place.
