It’s a hot and humid Sunday with chances for a spot shower

Friday will be hotter and still humid, with the possibility of a stray shower all day in the Boston area.David L. Ryan/Globe Staff

We may see an early shower on Sunday before the weather turns partly to mostly sunny with a diminishing chance of any shower activity throughout the day. The exception here may be over the south coast and the islands, where any shower activity could linger a little longer during the day. Essentially the cold front will exit the region and start building in high pressure behind the boundary.

Nevertheless, we’re not expecting much in the way of rainfall, although the day should still feel quite humid with dew points in the upper 60s and highs near 90 almost everywhere away from the Cape.

High tide will be late morning and early afternoon throughout the four-day weekend, coming in as late as the early afternoon on Sunday near 1 p.m. There could be a chance for a spot shower later in the day with a frontal boundary stalled around the coast, but many will remain dry.
