Dave Epstein

David Epstein, a meteorologist and horticulturalist for over 35 years, writes for The Boston Globe and is the meteorologist for GBH, Boston’s local NPR station. He has been an on-air meteorologist at various stations throughout New England, including WBZ and WCVB. In 2006, he founded Growing Wisdom, a business producing educational and marketing videos. He also owns a landscape design business, Bloomscapes Inc. In the past, Dave has been a fundraiser and worked in the software industry. Dave grew up in Portland, Maine, attending the city’s public schools and later graduated from Colby College. His first job was teaching eighth-grade science at his former junior high. He has been an educator ever since, including 17 years in the classroom at his alma mater Colby, teaching a meteorology course. He studied meteorology at Lyndon State College and has a master’s degree in education and an MBA, both from Boston College. He is currently on the board of the Natick Community Organic Farm. He lives in Natick with his husband and his son, a sophomore at the Groton School, and they have a summer cottage in Harpswell, Maine.
