Mercedes Colomar

MSc Mercedes Colomar is a Uruguayan researcher specializing in maternal health. Colomar completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology soon after she became interested in maternal health, leading her to pursue a Master's Degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in maternal health. Colomar currently conducts research, promotes health, and teaches at a non-governmental institution, an international organization, and at a public university in Uruguay (Faculty of Medicine).

With a passion for understanding and improving the well-being of women, she has dedicated her career to conducting qualitative research, systematic reviews, and the implementation of evidence-based solutions. Throughout her career, MSc. Colomar has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals. Her publications encompass a wide range of topics, including maternal health, reproductive rights, the global burden of disease, the reduction of health disparities, and the promotion of equitable access to quality care.

Driven by her commitment to lifelong learning, she continues to expand her knowledge and skills. She regularly attends workshops, and training programs to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field and continue her training as a researcher.
