Dudley residents reported hearing a 'huge bang' as a fire broke out. The blaze involved two trailers and a large lorry, which was carrying artificial grass and decking.
Firefighters were called to wasteland on Quarry Road, near Netherton, just after 1.20pm on Monday, July 8. The road was closed in both directions as crews tackled the blaze, but reopened as they left just before 3pm.
Officers from West Midlands Police were also at the scene, helping with traffic management. Those living near the scene turned to social media to say they'd heard a 'huge bang', with some suggesting there had been 'an explosion'.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1.20pm, we responded to Quarry Road, Netherton. A fire engine and two 4x4 brigade response vehicles from Brierley Hill and Haden Cross responded, the first arriving within five minutes of being mobilised.
"This was a fire affecting two trailers and a large refrigerated lorry on wasteground. The lorry was carrying artificial grass and decking. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four jets to extinguish the fire.
"Quarry Road was closed for a time whilst emergency services worked at the scene, but has since re-opened. Police colleagues were in attendance to assist with traffic management. We left the scene at 2.55pm."
