An inquest into the death of a TV medic, who was found dead in Hednesford, has been opened and adjourned. The body of Daniel Duffield, who starred in Channel 4's 999: On the Frontline, was discovered at a house in Alpine Drive on June 25.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service worker, from Cannock, was found alongside 22-year-old Lauren Evans, from Bridgend, South Wales. Their deaths sparked a murder probe, with Staffordshire Police later confirming it was "not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths".

Staffordshire and Stoke Coroner's Service opened the inquest into 24-year-old Daniel's death on Monday, July 8. During the short hearing, the court heard he'd been identified by his father, and a cause of death had not been ascertained.

"We want to reassure the community that we are not seeking any other party in connection with Lauren’s death and are continuing to build a file for HM Coroner. I can’t begin to imagine the pain that the families are feeling after this tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the families of those affected.”
