Missing Flagstaff woman may be victim of homicide, police say; husband arrested
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — A Flagstaff woman who went missing after going for a run and swim may be the victim of a homicide, police said on Tuesday.
Flagstaff police and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office are still searching for 45-year-old Kelly Paduchowski, a day after her husband, 58-year-old Daniel Paduchowski, was arrested for aggravated assault.
“This investigation is ongoing and the No. 1 priority is to locate Kelly,” Flagstaff police said during a news conference. “However, based on current evidence and information, it is believed that Kelly may be the victim of a homicide.”
Kelly went missing after she left her home on Sunday morning.
Police released the following timeline of events during a news conference Tuesday afternoon:
- 10:20 a.m. | Cellphone data placed Kelly’s phone in the area of Schultz Creek Trail.
- 11:30 a.m. | Daniel is seen in the same area.
- 12:13 p.m. | Data placed Kelly’s phone back at her home in the Coconino Estates neighborhood.
- 1:30 p.m. | Kelly’s white Mazda CX-5 and Daniel are seen at Campbell Mesa trailhead.
- 7:39 p.m. | Daniel reports Kelly as a missing person, saying she’s possibly in the area of Lake Mary.
Police say officers interviewed family members and witnesses, and collected evidence that resulted in Daniel’s arrest. He’s being held on a $500,000 bond.
Kelly is described as 5′8″, 138 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and white running shoes.
