Celtics' Summer League schedule highlighted by matchup with Bronny James, Lakers

On Friday, the NBA announced the game schedules for Summer League 2024, which will take place from July 12-22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Celtics’ schedule is as follows:

Saturday 7/13: vs. Heat, 6:30 p.m. ET, NBATV

Monday 7/15: vs. Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET, NBATV

Wednesday 7/17: vs. Hornets, 5:30 p.m. ET, NBATV

Friday 7/19: vs. Mavericks, 4:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU

Each team will play a fifth game, with the date and time to be determined by the league. After the first four games, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, starting with a semifinal doubleheader on Sunday, July 21. The winners of the semifinals will compete in the championship game on Monday, July 22.

The four playoff teams will be determined by their winning percentages in the first four games. The 26 teams that do not make the playoffs will play their fifth game on Saturday, July 20, or Sunday, July 21.

Boston’s schedule is highlighted by a matchup with Bronny James, who, after being drafted by the Lakers with the 55th pick in the second round, joined his father, LeBron James, as the first father-and-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time. The Lakers also added Tennessee wing Dalton Knecht, who could be one of the steals of the draft, selected 17th overall.

For Boston, rookies Baylor Scheierman and Anton Watson will be at the center of attention, alongside 20-year-old Jordan Walsh and possibly 21-year-old Jaden Springer, whom the Celtics acquired from the 76ers at the trade deadline last season. The coach for Boston’s summer league squad has not yet been announced.

All 76 games of the 11-day competition will air live on ESPN or NBA TV.
