As many spend the holiday with friends and family, Independence Day will hit a high of 85 with intervals of sun and clouds among the humid heat. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms are expected in spots.

The heat will dwindle to about 76 during the Macy’s fireworks, but the humidity will remain, AccuWeather said. Thunderstorms could disrupt the festivities, but the forecast favors a dry show.

The long-lasting humidity will stay in place Sunday and Monday, which will both be quite warm with highs in the upper 80s, AccuWeather said.
