4 injured, including 8-year-old girl, several cars damaged after LI home fireworks go wrong

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) –  A Long Island fireworks display accident injured four people and damaged several cars on the Fourth of July, according to Suffolk County police.

A large gathering was watching the fireworks display at a residence in Port Jefferson Station when one of the fireworks "went astray" at around 10 p.m. Four people were injured, and several cars parked on the block were also damaged, according to police.

All four of the injured were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Patrice Ambroise, 38, of Mount Sinai, is being treated for burns and a serious leg injury. Kieran Doyle, 30, of Selden, is being treated for burns and a severed finger.

A 30-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
