65-year-old man sucker punched in Brooklyn deli

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 65-year-old man was punched in a random assault while inside of a Brooklyn deli at the end of last month, and police released surveillance images of the suspect on Friday.

It happened inside Kolly Deli Grocery, located at 2520 Linden Boulevard in East New York, at about 5:45 p.m. on June 20.

The 65-year-old victim was approached and punched in the face unprovoked, police said.

Officials said that he suffered a minor injury to his left eye and was transported by medical personnel to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.

The suspect, described by police as being six-feet-tall with a medium build and black hair, fled westbound on Linden Boulevard on foot.

He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black long-sleeve shirt with white stripes, black pants, and black shoes.
