How Drew Bledsoe's first meeting with Gisele Bündchen showed the mutual respect between him and Tom Brady

Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady may have had a weird relationship at one point but the mutual respect between the two quarterbacks is now obvious. The two reunited at Tom Brady’s roast a few weeks ago with the two trading jabs – including about Brady’s ex-wife.

Bledsoe told the story of when he first met Brady’s ex-wife and fashion model Gisele Bündchen while appearing on Audacy Sports’ “The Bret Boone Podcast” this week.

“We were skiing up in Montana and I had said hi to Tom earlier that day. I knew he was there, I hadn’t seen him but I saw him out on the slopes and recognized him because he was wearing just this awful Under Armour ski outfit. Dude, it looked like he got something in the rental shop,” Bledsoe laughed. “He comes over and says hey and we didn’t ski together because – I think he’s gotten better on skis but at that point, he was a really s—y skier.”

Bledsoe got caught up on the mountain on a phone call when it closed, leaving him to be the only one skiing down.

“I just come ripping down, the only one left on the whole mountain, and I get to the bottom and I can see Tom down there because nobody else would wear this awful ski outfit that he was wearing and there was a female with him, so I assumed that was Gisele – and I had not met her at this point,” Bledsoe recalled. “So I came ripping down with the intent that I was going to spray Tom with snow. So I come in hot, throw a big wall of snow, and of course, it just covers Gisele with snow head to toe and misses Tom entirely.”

Brady was caught off guard, not knowing that Bledsoe was the one who just sprayed his wife.

“He didn’t know what was going on, so he looks over at me with this look like ‘Alright, it’s go time dude. You don’t get to spray my wife with snow.’ I’m like ‘Hey man, it’s Drew, it’s Drew.’”

That was when Bledsoe met Gisele for the first time.

“So I was like ‘Hey Gisele, it’s nice to meet you.’ And she leans in and gives me this big hug, which obviously I wasn’t going to turn down,” he recalled. “I bumped into them later that night and Giselle said to me ‘I usually don’t give people a big hug when I very first meet them but you don’t know how you’re talked about in our house.’

“Which I thought was a really cool moment. Obviously, as I said, there’s a lot of mutual respect between the two of us but to hear that from her that I’m spoken of well in their home, that meant a lot.”
