Adam Duvall takes us inside his viral beer pyramid throw: 'It was one of my biggest accomplishments'

Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall went viral over the weekend by knocking down a pyramid of beer cans in the stands with a single throw. It made the rounds on social media and the outfielder was proud of his accomplishment.

Duvall joined WEEI’s Rob Bradford on the Audacy Original Podcast “Baseball Isn’t Boring” to take us behind the scenes of his viral throw.

“They were building it throughout the game trying to get me to hit it,” Duvall said, “but I waited, obviously, until the ninth inning to take a shot at it.”

The fans were getting Duvall’s attention throughout the game but the outfielder wanted to wait until the final inning to take his shot. And he didn’t miss.

“As I’m winding up to throw it I’m like ‘What are the chances that I actually knock this over?’” Duvall recalled. “And then out of the hand, it looked good.”

“They were obviously ecstatic when it fell so that was cool,” he said. “It was one of my biggest accomplishments.”

Duvall not only felt good about the throw but he feels great about being back in Atlanta.

“It feels good to be back here; such a good group of guys and it’s a fun team to be around and show up and play with,” he said. “It holds a special place in my heart being with these guys and being back in Atlanta.”

The outfielder spent one year in Boston last year and despite the Red Sox showing interest in bringing him back, it didn’t work out.

“They made some calls but it just didn’t work out,” he said. “It’s one of those things.”

Duvall is now back where he won a World Series in 2021 and back making viral moments as well.
