Many of the cast members of the hit reality franchise “The Real Housewives” are married with children, but can any of them say they were on the sitcom by the same name?

If things had gone differently, one of the “Married… With Children” stars would have been a regular on the Los Angeles version of the show.

Christina Applegate, who played Kelly Bundy on the Fox sitcom for eleven seasons, revealed on the latest episode of her podcast, “Messy,” that she was asked to be on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

She said “they asked me to be one 10 years ago” but claims that she wouldn’t have been a great addition to the show.

“I wouldn't have shown up to any dinners. I would have been in my sweatpants and I'd be laying in bed. What fun is that?” she asked before admitting she “would be the worst Housewife.”

Though Applegate didn’t end up getting in the “RHOBH” mix with other actresses-turned-reality stars like Denise Richards (Wild Things), Lisa Rinna (Melrose Place), or Garcelle Beauvais (The Jamie Foxx Show), she did befriend one of the program’s producers.

“What's funny is I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of it because our kids went to school together,” she said, before sharing that he agrees that she would have been “the most boring” on the show.

Applegate may not have wanted to appear on “The Real Housewives,” but she is an avid follower of the format. “In the two years that I have been watching from my bed, I have probably watched 300 hours of reality television,” Applegate said.

Her “Messy” co-host, “The Sopranos” actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, shared on a recent episode of the “Bitch Sesh” podcast that while dealing with symptoms of multiple sclerosis (she was diagnosed in 2021), Applegate became a fan of Bravo shows, to the point that she watched every season of “Vanderpump Rules” in “like one week.”

The fandom has gotten so deep that Applegate has since become friends with “Below Deck” cast members. “I have slipped into their DMs and become friends with, like, Captain Lee, he's amazing, and Kate Chastain and Daisy [Kelliher],” she shared.
