ATSU-ASHS celebrates graduates from distance learning, residential programs at commencement

A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) hosted commencement ceremonies for its distance learning and residential programs on Friday, June 7, at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona.

ATSU-ASHS’ distance learning programs graduated 140 students, including 14 from the Master of Science in Athletic Training program, 14 from the Doctor of Athletic Training program, 35 from the Post-Professional Doctor of Audiology program, 42 from the Postprofessional Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and 35 from the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program.

ATSU-ASHS’ residential programs graduated 134 students, including 17 from the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program, 15 from the Doctor of Audiology program, 22 from the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, 57 from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and 23 from the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program.

The Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program celebrated their inaugural graduating classes.

R. Mark Laursen, MS, ATC, residency and fellowship director, Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, delivered the distance learning commencement address. Vicki R. Deal-Williams, MA, CCC-SLP, CAE, FASAE, CEO, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, presented the residential commencement address. 

At each ceremony, Norman Gevitz, PhD, senior vice president, academic affairs, greeted graduates and guests, and ATSU-ASHS Dean Ann Lee Burch, PT, EdD, MS, MPH, provided the welcome message and introductions. ATSU President Craig Phelps, DO, ’84, delivered the closing remarks.
