When I first tried to make a claim they rejected it and said that the original manufacturers' warranty should cover it. It was an 8-10 year old XBox. Factory warranty? It was the second reconditioned unit that I bought from Amazon and I was worried it would fail like the first one and like my original one. I knew there would be no factory warranty that's why I bought the Asurion one. It seemed to me like they were trying to get out of honoring the warranty. I pushed back and then they said send it to us for repairs. I sent it to them and two weeks later they sent it back saying its all good to go. All of the quality control boxes were checked off. The only thing is they sent it back with a different power supply that wasn't physically compatible. Their solution was to break part of the plug off in the power jack of the XBox. They took a different power supply than the working one I sent them and tried to put a plug that has a male pin in the exact opposite position of another male pin in the jack. They then broke off the male pin on the plug, didn't test it and called it good. I pulled the broken plastic from within the jack and plugged in the correct power supply which I verified as working with multimeter. Nothing happened. It would not even power up. I called them and asked if they could just give me the dam money so I could buy something that works. Nope. I had to send it back to them. A couple weeks later they came back and said it was unrepairable and did reimburse me for the purchase price. How did it go from; fixed, tested and completely working to unrepairable?

Their online system was crappy so I had to get a person on the line. It was frustrating however in the end the people were courteous and did come through but if I wasn't an engineer who knew better than what they were telling me would I have just given up. In my opinion someone with a legitimate claim shouldn't have to jump through so many incompetent steps.
