This L'Oreal Men's Gift Set is really 2 products. There are 3 products included in this group, but only 2 in this gift set. There is a charcoal infused cleanser and a Pro-Retinol daily moisturizer in this gift set. Not included is an eye roller product. This product is marketed as "anti-aging" making the exclusion of the eye roller a bit of a disappointment.
The cleanser implies that somehow including charcoal makes it attract dirt from deep in your pores and maybe exfoliate better. I am generally used to gentle cleansers, but I don't understand how some percentage of that charcoal dust doesn't get stuck in pores. In any case, my experience with this cleanser is that it does seem to work fairly well. Two concerns I have is that it leaves my skin feeling extremely raw after cleansing. And rinsing it away makes me feel like I was just just in a swamp, because of all the dark residue that comes off my face. Even though it does foam up a little when you rub it in your hands, it still has a dark hue. I fear that for the sake of a "gimmick" I might be adding unnecessary charcoal to my face.
The moisturizer is something I have an easier time having faith in. It feels like high quality moisturizer, and a little bit goes a long way. I am a believer in Pro-Retinol forumlas and based on my research this will likely help a lot of people in terms of firming up their skin.

The cleanser is less appealing than the moisturizer, and this kit doesn't really give you everything you need.
