I am usually a big fan of Kiehls products but this was a miss for me. I couldn't figure out why this was SO STICKY. The spots where I applied this were so sticky that the fabric from my pillow stuck to my face. I tried wiping with a tissue and it ripped the tissue and stuck to my skin. I ended up washing it off because my face was getting stuck to everything while I was trying to sleep. Definitely an odd formulation.

As expected this product works like a charm and will get rid of pesky imperfections quickly. This product does dry out the skin so be careful to apply directly to the blemish to not dry out larger areas.

I’ve own many Kiehl's products and this spot treatment is gentle, unscented, and didn't irritate my skin, which is important and a big deal to me.
I also like the glass dropper, it feels applicator feels high-quality. However, the serum leaves a bit of a sticky residue, and for the price, it seems like I'm mostly just paying for the name and the "invisible patch" technology. There are other salicylic acid treatments out there that are just as effective for less money.

I should start by saying that I'm generally a fan of Kiehl's products and they are often worth paying a little more to have. However, I found the applicator for this particular product not as easy to use. It is marketed as being able to "target" the acne, but it's a liquid that comes from a dropper. I find that I can use a bit of a cream to be just as targeted if not more targeted. The other supposed advantage is that the liquid creates an invisible "patch." I agree that the liquid is not visible, but I haven't personally noticed any kind of "patch" that differs from other face products.

In terms of its effectiveness, I haven't noticed anything special. The main active ingredient is 2% Salicylic Acid, which is a common acne-fighting ingredient, but you can get innumerable other products that have 2% Salicylic Acid. There is also 4% Niacinamide, but again, that's not a remarkable ingredient and there are other products that have at least that level (and often much higher) if that's an ingredient that works for you.

The bottom line is that the product is fine and I will likely continue to use it now and then, but it hasn't shown itself to be anything remarkable for me. Given that the price point is higher than other products that offer the same active ingredients, I'm not likely to be buying another bottle. That said, if you are finding that other products are not working for you and you'd be interested in giving this a try, I'm not going to dissuade you.

I was expecting the product to dry and create a patch-like film, but it remains sticky and tacky. I feel like calling the product a patch is misleading. This very much feels like an expensive serum. I waited an hour for it to dry but it remained tacky, applying makeup over it looks spotty because it clings to the tackiness of the product and separates, even when gently dabbing the foundation on. I feel like this would work better if it actually dried so that I could get a smooth application.

This 2% salicylic acid formula worked very well to stop a new pimple from becoming unsightly and didn't irritate my sensitive skin. I used it on one spot the other night after cleansing my face and I had no irritation or redness from the formula.

I had high hope for this because I love other Kiehl's products but I used this as a spot treatment on a pimple I got but I didn't see a difference. It didn't go down or dry up but it also didn't get bigger. It stayed the same. It was not irritating and didn't have a scent. I will still continue to use this product.
