In the picture it looks like the cover swings open and shut, but it’s not attached in any way, and very easily falls off. Bought it for a hide-a-key in the front yard, but it’s not reliable for that. It sits in my house, now. Darn.

So the turtle is adorable. I gave it 3 stars because the magnet that holds the key plate in place is weak and I don’t trust it. I am going to try to install my own magnet in the key area or attach a clasp or something because if you flip the turtle over too quickly or vigorously the plate flies off and your key is gone. I’m afraid it will be easily kicked loose and your key will get lost in the garden or whoever you have it stashed. Good concept, unfortunately not well executed.

I can't use it to hide a key the magnet door on the bottom of the turtle is so weak when you pick it up the door falls off without a key even inside. This will never hold a key. The turtle is cute so I kept it as a decoration.
