My tub kept getting clogged. Nothing worse than standing in dirty backed up water because the tub is draining very slowly and water builds up and you're standing in it. I had a barbed plastic tool to get hair clogs out and it worked but it was a dirty, stinky job and slimy because of old hair buildup.
This hair catcher "Tub Shrooms" is my all-time favorite answer to this problem of hair build up. It's very easy to "install". I ordered their newest Tub Shroom made of chrome... So pretty! Also, so easy to just lift it out and use t..p. to wipe off hair and stick it back in the drain. It came with a plug if you want to take a bath. I feel like everyone needs one of these if they want no clogs in their tub!! I'm so happy to finally address this long-term problem!

Fits my Gerber drains with a stem in the middle!
We are "blessed" with those Gerber drains specifically designed to give plumbers regular income, with a stem in the middle, which makes it impossible to install an actual bathtub strainer. One slowly draining bathtub, snake and nasty smelly hairy monster later I actually found a solution! Tubshroom! I hate pulling wet hair from the drain, and more so when it is hair from someone else, in this case the previous tenant. I always try to avoid such situations myself and I remove my own hair immediately after I shower. But this Gerber drain does absolutely nothing in preventing or letting you prevent such situations. Until Tubshroom! It is exactly what I needed. Looks like an old fashioned perm rods, but with a bigger diameter, with a hole on one side letting the Gerber rod in, with a seal hugging the drain edges. It sticks over the bathtub surface and lets the water drain well even when filled with hair. No puddles, it drains as if nothing was there. Fits and sits perfectly. And most importantly, no hairy monsters living down in my drains! Tubshroom is well designed, and there are zero complaints from my side. Would rate even more than 5 stars if I could! Got matching Sinkshroom as well. They both look and most importantly work great. Great design, great performance. Can't rave enough!
