Skunk odor remover

So far it seems to be working pretty good, our dog had been sprayed a week before in the face, not too bad but it did stink and of course it ended up on the furniture, it was almost gone after the first application, tried another application 2 days later and haven't smelt anything! Love that it is made in USA. And the fact that it works, I will keep it handy in case it happens again!! Highly recommend this product! Sooo easy to use as well!!

My dogs had an epic adventure but let's shorten it to the relevant Cliffs Notes. 2 dogs, 1 chicken coop and 1 juvenile skunk. After busting through the coop gate and the front gate (fixing those now) my geriatric dog caught the skunk and killed it. He clearly celebrated his victory by rolling on his trophy. Though he has no regrets his poor elderly body is feeling the crash from his adrenaline rush. I slept through the chaos but awoke to find these hunters parading around the front yard basking in the glory of their kill. Unfortunately, that was several hours after the fact.
I gave both dogs a bath in the standard peroxide, baking soda and Dawn dish soap treatment. The diva of the two was only lightly misted so that mixture worked like a dream. However, for my skilled assassin, the mixture was effective in getting rid of the burning sensation in both our nostrils and sulfuric taste in our mouths. Since he had basically worn the carcass, skunk oils had now become part of his DNA. After drying, he was given another bath with a peroxide and baking soda paste mix. He was then rinsed with vinegar and then water. It may have helped but the impact was negligible. So I ordered this skunk odor remover product which arrived two days later.

Product specific information:
Now that he had had time to properly marinate in the remainder of the skunk oil this product was going to be put to the test. With gloves, I worked the foam into his neck, chest and face for about 20 minutes. I allowed it to dry and gave him the sniff test. Odor is still strong but there is a noticeable reduction. The smell is no longer wafting off of him. I actually have to get close to smell it. The smell is no longer transferring to other materials so that's a bonus. Take the time to really work this into their fur and skin. He's going to need two more treatments but I imagine if you can get this on within an hour or two of the incident you could have pretty good results. Good luck!

First off the "foam" doesn't foam at all. It's straight liquid. I purchased this to remove the skunk smell from my dogs face. Yes, I didn't think this would be a Magix cure but I was hoping for even a small improvement from her eyes/face area.
The product itself has no smell, but when you put this (no foam) liquid in the dog, it INTENSIFIES the skunk smell and not just temporarily.
Performance is weak to say the least. It had the opposite effect wanted. Therefore durability is a zero. It doesn't even foam...
I wouldn't use this product if it was given to me for free. I tossed the rest of the bottle into the trash. Value for money, zero.
I'd say this product seems safe for dogs and their faces. Maybe it if worked it would be worth something.

Unfortunately for my 2 VERY friendly and curious dogs, the skunks who like to frequent our yard do not want to be friends with them. This is not our first rodeo and we have been skunked at least 5 times since we moved into our current house. I wish I had this product years ago when we moved in. We always use the hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/dish soap mixture but this recent skunk spray incident got on my dog’s faces/heads. The baking soda mixture was difficult to put on their faces and I was constantly worried about potentially getting it into their eyes. Used this product out of desperation and it was super easy to use around the eyes and was very effective. Followed the directions and it worked first try. As much as I hope we never have another repeat skunk incident, history tells me we will and at least we will be prepared for it this time with this product. Highly recommend for pet parents who live near wildlife.

Didn't work very well for our little dog

After our dog was skunked, I washed him with a mix of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish detergent, which helped. However, the skunk odor lingered on his face (probably because the mix should not be used on or near the eyes and nose because it burns), so after a few weeks (during which I took him to the groomer for a bath and deodorizing treatment and also applied a mix of baking soda and water to his face almost every day (to no avail), I ordered this product. It was real easy to use but not very effective to remove the odor.
