Great product, but needed a mod to fit right
I've had a TubShroom for five years and it is the best thing since hot water. My only complaint about it was that the white material it was made from turned black after a while. It still worked, but the aesthetics left something to be desired. I bought a SinkShroom soon after, and it has served us well as my wife likes to wash her hair in our bathroom sink. It began to get discolored, too, and in shopping for a replacement I found that the design has changed - the stainless cap looked like it would fix the discoloration issue, and I bought the tub/sink pair.It appears that other details of the design have changed as well. The material used has changed, at least in color. But the biggest change is the contour of the lower flange that must compress inwards to seal against the wall of the drain pipe. No matter what I did, it went in cock-eyed and wonky. I fixed it by trimming out three of the 18 "petals"of that flange. Now it will behave itself go in evenly. It looks great and I'm confident it will work as well as the last one did, but since I had to do some surgery on it I'm docking it a star.The TubShroom has a similar issue and I haven't modified it yet. I expect it will respond to having some material snipped out as the sink model did.

To be fair, I usually have to clean out the u-bend of my bathroom sink once or twice a year and I haven't had to do that while using the sink shroom for the last almost 10 months. So maybe it helped.
I liked the idea enough to replace both with the stainless steel versions. So maybe that's what I should have bought in the first place.

I really liked the tub shroom. It caught hair nicely and seemed sturdy. I did have to clear it of hair every other shower, but that felt a small price to pay. The sink shroom, in the other hand, was flimsy on the bottom--just little thin rubbery strips. It never seemed to catch much of anything... Except mildew.
