Extra Adapters Included

Most bathroom sink drains are around 1.25" wide which is what the default SinkShroom Ultra adapter supports. There are a small percentage of drains that are smaller and larger, however, so we've included adapters that can fit tighter drains (around 1") and wider drains (around 1.5").

Look to the Mushroom

Nature often gives us the best ideas. The mushroom shape just worked better than anything else we tried in this space so we knew we had to go all in with it. The center cylinder and bottom flange work in tandem to catch all the hair without slowing the flow of water.

This is not the first time we tried "shrooms" - Sink/bath Shrooms. Love them.

In our household we all have longish hair. Before using this product, I would have to frequently fish a wad of hair and soap out of the drains. I quickly got tired of this. At first, we got the silicon bathtub version. It worked great. Found out there are at least two sizes of drain holes, however. One bathroom had a larger size, slipped right in. The other bathroom had a smaller one, tighter fit. The Shroom will still work, but you have to get it to sit in the hole just right, and then, let it form itself to the hole size. This deforms the Shroom and slightly slows drainage time. Not to worry unless you have Niagara Falls water flow.

We also tried it on drains and it worked great. Unfortunately we noticed a black coating on the silicone type Shroom. This did not wash off. We think it is black mold...? Looking on Amazon I found a stainless steel version for the sink. So far it is easier to keep clean and does the job. It comes with three different size gaskets to fit various size drain hole openings. Happily the product saves a lot of time and effort.

Works as if nothing was installed there! Great design! Its dome is above the lowest sink point, with three large openings on the plus it has openings on the top of the dome. Looks and works great. Leaves no puddles and is not slowing drainage. And the most importantly - no more hairy monsters down the drain! I have zero complaints. Works very well and also in comparison with standard sink strains, Sinkshroom does not leave the hair exposed.

This sink drain protector is great. It looks nice and was very easy to install. It's super easy to take it out and clean off the hair that collects. Much less hassle than the little plastic zipper thing I used to use to clean the drains.

I do miss having a stopper. The one that came with it is too small for the bathroom sink and will not stay inserted, especially if I am doing something like hand wash because it comes out at the slight touch since it is not at all flush with the drain. I have found that it works pretty well when inserted upside down. I would just purchase the drain protector and get something else for the stopper if I had it to do over.

My wife and I live in an apartment, and we've lived in them for years and years; landlords rarely make time to do something as basic as fix and replace the sink plug. It's a sad, pathetic truth... but just leaving it as an open hole isn't an option for us, small objects such as jewelry falling down the drain would be (and has been) upsetting and requires a costly and inconvenient plumber visit.

SinkShroom is a product I decided to try out a few years ago, and the difference is night and day. First, it filters such objects, making it so that it's not possible to lose them down the sink; second (unanticipated at the time) is how much hair it keeps from going down the sink.

The answer is: lots of hair. I won't be gross with any sort of metaphor or simile... use your imagination. If your sink doesn't currently have some kind of filter (the standard little hardware plug doesn't count, as they tend to let hair through and are difficult to remove and clean regardless), then it's happening to you as well.

If you've had issues with your sink draining water slowly or getting clogged, I'll wager that's why a huge percentage of the time. We used to have this issue regularly and we'd spend money on bottles of drain cleaner, only to have the issue again in a few months. I've read that human hair causes almost all plumbing problems and now that I see how much used to go down the sink I understand why.

Our sink hasn't gotten clogged since we started using this product. Nor has the shower/tub, as they make a similar item for such (it's a little different but works in the same way). The same sink and tub that used to get clogged don't anymore, and the only change was getting these, so it's pretty easy to tell that they were the solution.

Cleaning it is fast and easy. Just pull it out of the drain and then wipe accumulated hair/anything else off it with a paper towel/rag, then throw away the mess and stick the SinkShroom back into the drain.

The product itself isn't expensive. We needed a new one recently, new apartment has another sink than the last, and there was no question in my mind about whether or not to do it.

For homeowners: if it saves you even ONE visit from a plumber (and over any amount of time, it probably will), then it's way more than paid for itself.

It's not the sort of thing I get *excited* about, really I just install it (which is literally just "stick it in the drain") and leave it, but it's definitely a product I can enthusiastically endorse, because it absolutely prevents a lot of headaches. I'd like to personally thank the inventor.

I’ve had the silicone SinkShroom till now, it got moldy overtime and couldn’t be cleaned properly. So I believe that stainless steel will be more practical as far as cleaning. We have what it would appear is a small drain hole on our shower so none of the bath shrooms would fit but this is perfect. It catches so much hair and just needs cleaning every now and then when the draining slows down. It does obviously slow down the speed that the water drains away which causes a bit of a puddle and can mean some soap marks in the shower tray but thats the price to pay to not have to put drain cleaner in once a week!

Ich brauche kaum noch Chemie für den Abfluss (1x im Jahr reicht vollkommen, seit ich diesen Abflussschutz in meiner begehbaren Dusche installiert habe. Er fängt Haare und Schmutz perfekt auf. Allerdings kündigt es sich vorher nicht an, wenn er voll ist und dann läuft das Wasser nicht mehr ab und man muss ihn ganz flott sauber machen, wenn man keine Überschwemmung im Bad will. Daher 1 Punkt Abzug. Ich reinige ihn mittlerweile wöchentlich, somit ist das Problem gelöst. Die Reinigung ist dank Silikonring und Edelstahlkörper superieinfach. Vorher hatte ich einen kompletten Silikonkörper mit Noppen im Einsatz. Das ließ sich irgendwann nicht mehr richtig reinigen und sah verboten aus später. Daher kann ich dieses Produkt nur empfehlen.
