Oh Fiskars Hori Knife, Where Have You Been All My Life?
This is the knife I didn't know I needed. Don't laugh, but my gardening tools include a couple of old steak knives that I use for digging and cutting weeds. I also have a rusty dandelion popper from the 1960s. I didn't have big expectations when I ordered this. I thought it would be smaller and less multipurpose. This thing is awesome! First, this is a HUGE knife. It is made of thick steel and feels substantial in your hand. One side of the blade is serrated, the other is not. The tip of the knife is curved inward. One side of the blade has measurement markings. The knife comes with a plastic sheath that you can attach to your belt or waistband of your yoga pants.There's a lot to love about this knife. It helps with many different gardening jobs. You can chop weeds, dig weeds, cut small branches, dig holes for planting, & pop out dandelions. This thing is extremely sharp. I feel like a professional gardener when I use this tool.My only criticism is in regards to the sheath. It is made of hard plastic. The sides of the sheath click around the knife hilt to prevent it from sliding around. You have to tug a bit to pull the knife out of the sheath. Putting the knife in the sheath feels very awkward, you have to wiggle, then push to get the blade in place. The waistband clip doesn't smoothly attach to your waistband, it takes some fidgeting around to get it on. It works ok, but it also seems kind of flimsy and I wonder how long it will last before it breaks off.Overall, the Fiskars Hori Knife is a game-changer that will help you upgrade your gardening tool collection.
