OUR summer
nature camps

JOIN A LIFE-CHANGING TRIP

Our Summer Camps are open to all 12-16 year-olds in England and Wales. They are a chance to learn about nature, environmental justice, and how to take action, alongside other young people from across England and Wales. The camps are packed with conservation activities, careers advice and adventure guided by young environmental professionals, the AFC team and our partners. You will return ready to drive change in your community.

Check out the video below for a taster of the incredible adventure awaiting you!

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

In order to come on our camp you will simply need to show us that you are motivated about tackling environmental issues, by answering three simple questions:

1. Identify an environmental issue that is important to you and tell us why.

This could be a local, national or global issue.

2. What action would you take to solve this problem?

3. How would you persuade other young people to take action with you?

‘I would definitely encourage people to come on this camp. I’ve enjoyed it so much and
I’ve made so many new friends.’

INCLUSION

Action for Conservation (AFC) is an environmental action charity that runs workshops, residential summer camps and events for young people inside and outside of schools across the UK. AFC recognises that it is essential to provide equal opportunities to all people without discrimination. Below you can find our Summer Camp Inclusion statement that sets out how AFC will approach and support young people during AFC’s residential summer camps.

In addition, we have created Language Support Resources aimed at providing context about Action for Conservation and the camps. These resources will be available in Bengali, Polish, Portuguese, Somali, Urdu and Welsh.

BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR

Your adventure doesn't end when the camp is over. Every young person who returns inspired from their camp experience is invited to join our Ambassador Programme for the following year. This action-packed mentoring scheme further develops your environmental skills and knowledge and helps you take real action back home.

More from our current Ambassadors coming soon...
