The presentation will centre on the use of detergents and disinfectants as part of the control strategy. The presentation will discuss the differences between different types of disinfectants (including those intended to be sporicidal) and the steps to be followed for their selection. Key GMP topics will also be addressed, including disinfectant rotation, qualification and the importance of examine microbial counts and the types of microorganisms recovered from an environmental monitoring programme.

Archivematica is an open-source and non-commercial digital preservation system, that was cho-sen and installed by the National Library of Wales to explore the ingest and preservation of digital data-objects, as part of the digital preservation ambitions of the Archives and Records Council Wales. The aim of the dissertation is to comprehend the operating principles of Archivematica 1.5 and evaluate the transfer and ingest functionality for digital data-objects of Local Authorities. This dissertation applies multiple research methods to cross-validate the findings on the Ar-chivematica ingest functionality and the according metadata and rights management. In addition to a comprehensive literature review, and the technical analysis of the Archivematica ingest, a mostly qualitative data collection captures the current situation in Welsh digital preservation in-stitutions regarding metadata and rights management. The final research method targets the criteria-based evaluation of the Archivematica ingest according to the recommendations of the Producer-Archive Interface Methodology Standard. The results show, that Archivematica pro-vides interfaces to enter descriptive metadata compliant to Dublin Core, and administrative metadata compliant to PREMIS. To create a submission ready data-set, the data-objects benefit from descriptive metadata input with the aid of a CSV-file. The automatic extraction and pro-cessing of descriptive metadata from a CSV-file is enabled by Archivematica 1.5, however admin-istrative metadata cannot be handled in that manner yet. The small-scale purposive data collec-tion through executing a mostly open-ended questionnaire revealed that copyright and license regulation are predominant. The need for a digital preservation system and capturing metadata is bridged by applying cataloguing software. The criteria based evaluation of the ingest function-ality of Archivematica confirmed the good quality of the technical architecture of this digital preservation system. Archivematica’s ability to be adjusted and extended by other software for transfer and pre-ingest storage, and access is beneficial for the adaption to current needs and circumstances of the archive.

The presence of chlorate in milk and dairy products can arise from the use of chlorinated water and chlorinated detergents for cleaning and sanitation of process equipment at both farm and food processor level. Chlorate and other oxychlorine species have been associated with inhibition of iodine uptake in humans and the formation of methemoglobin, with infants and young children being a high-risk demographic. This comprehensive review of chlorate and chlorine derivatives in dairy, highlights areas of concern relative to the origin and/or introduction of chlorate within the dairy supply chain. This review also discusses the associated health concerns, regulations, and chemical behavior of chlorate and chlorine-derived by-products, and provides a summary of mechanisms for their detection and removal.

Nitrogen (N) cycle involves a complex set of potential biochemical pathways with reactions catalyzed by different microorganisms. Elementary mass balances for COD, DO, NH4-N and alkalinity were conducted and stoichiometric relationships were investigated to explain possible pathways of the nitrogen removal mechanisms in a lab-scale submerged down flow biological packed bed (BPB) reactor. Four sets of experiments were performed by modifying the organic loading and C/N ratio in comparison with steady-state conditions. Approximately 90% of COD and NH4-N removal occurred in two upper sections occupying 1/5 of the reactor height. The elementary
mass balances could not explain all the experimental results with respect to nitrogen removal and oxygen consumption by known mechanisms. The mass balance calculations, excluding the possibility of nitrification, were in general in accordance with the observations indicating no or minimal NO3-N production. The theoretical stoichiometric requirements for nitrification reaction
were satisfied in 6 experiments and in another 8 experiments nitrification may have occurred, but stoichiometry was not satisfied. Using C/N ratio as the variable, only at C/N ratio = 10, the predictions confirmed the possibility of nitrification in the same 3 (out of 4) assays as observed in practice. The results of this study reveal that the nitrogen transformations occurring in the studied reactor are complex and cannot be explained by simple mechanisms of microbial assimilation and nitrification.

Most of the wastewater treatment systems in small rural communities of the Cova da Beira region (Portugal) consist of constructed wetlands (CW) with horizontal subsurface flow (HSSF). It is believed that those systems allow the compliance of discharge standards as well as the production of final effluents with suitability for reuse. Results obtained in a nine-month campaign in an HSSF bed pointed out that COD and TSS removal were lower than expected. A discrete sampling also showed that removal of TC, FC and HE was not enough to fulfill international irrigation goals. However, the bed had a very good response to variation of incoming nitrogen loads presenting high removal of nitrogen forms. A good correlation between mass load and mass removal rate was observed for BOD5, COD, TN, NH4-N, TP and TSS, which shows a satisfactory response of the bed to the variable incoming loads. The entrance of excessive loads of organic matter and solids contributed for the decrease of the effective volume for pollutant uptake and therefore, may have negatively influenced the treatment capability. Primary treatment should be improved in order to decrease the variation of incoming organic and solid loads and to improve the removal of COD, solids and pathogenic. The final effluent presented good physical–chemical quality to be reused for irrigation, which is the most likely application in the area.

The work of water supply and sanitation is very important for the healthy survival of human society. The efforts are being
made to achieve a remarkable success in these fields by active involvement of local people particularly in rural areas. The
present paper highlights a case study of village Aasgaon in Maharashtra as a role which has attracted many national and
international groups with its success story due to its social transformation by active participation of local people in general
and by women in particular.

A monitoring campaign in a horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetland under the influence of transient loads of flow-rate, organic matter, nitrogen and suspended solids showed an irregular removal of COD and TSS and lower both removal efficiencies and mass removal rates than the ones observed in other studies for similar operating conditions. This circumstance is associated to the presence of large amount of particulate organic matter from non-point sources. The mass removal rate of ammonia increased 39% as both the water and soil temperatures increased from weeks 1–8 to weeks 9–14. A good correlation between mass load and mass removal rate was observed for all measured parameters, which attests a satisfactory response of the bed under to transient loads.

I will use Bosnian and Ottoman well-known and less known first-hand written and oral resources to conduct this research. We will see how Bosnia and its people incorporated these traditions and formed a unique Bosnian cultural hybridity. To entertain a world-vide and Balkan region long term peace, we have to understand better and explain the Bosnian situation and culture movements and patterns to the world. With safe and sound Balkan, protecting and conserving heritage, world and historians will get a new look and approach to undiscovered history and culture so that we can hope for a new, sustainable, and better world.

The reality of plurality in the context of humanity is something that Allah Almighty has desired, and the human task is to nurture and develop mutual respect and appreciation among people (tolerant). In this regard, the purpose of this study is to explore and explain exactly what kind of religious construction of kiai pesantren about pluralism and multiculturalism, the basis of references used, because it is related to the kiai's point of view in resolving social conflicts that sometimes occur in the community. The data research was collected through survey and depth interview with some kiai pesantren in East Java. Data analysis was conducted with qualitative narrative and through Forum Group Discussion (FGD). The result shows that the mapping of religious construction of kiai pesantren in East Java consists of (1) religious construction with inclusive and exclusive categories and (2) religious construction with exclusive categories.

We present a numerical solution for the dead zone model which describes the solute transport in a subsurface and horizontal flow constructed wetland. This model is a system of two mass balance equations for two conceptual areas: the main channel and the storage zone. We use finite difference schemes to determine the numerical solution of the system and we study its convergence by presenting properties related to the stability and accuracy of the schemes. Concerning the experimental results, the magnitude of the longitudinal dispersion and the extension of dead volumes is estimated for clean conditions and after a certain operating period under organic loading conditions. The results showed a considerable amount of longitudinal dispersion through the bed, which was very strong near the feeding point, indicating the occurrence of mixing and significant presence of dead zones and short-circuiting.
