Weather Summary:

We are tracking high pressure in the StormTrack 12 Weather Center. Over the course of the weekend, high pressure will be focused offshore, bringing with it return flow as well as oppresive heat and humidity. You could see a sea-breeze thundershower in the afternoon. The heat and humidity will elevate the heat index as well. Actual highs will climb to near 90 at the beaches and mid 90s inland. The heat index may get into the 105 to 110 range.

The front is slipping east at a very slow effort on Sunday. A high in the Ohio Valley is trying to provide a little push, but it just isn't moving much. The heat and humidity will remain, with a 105-110 heat index for our area. There is a chance for some isolated to scattered showers, especially along the sea-breeze.

The front appears to stall before reaching our area on Monday. There is still a 40 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms, mainly along the afternoon sea-breeze.

There is a similar situation for in place for Tuesday. The front becomes stationary in the central part of the state into central Virginia. Expect partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and an afternoon shower or thundershower, mainly in the heat of the day.

The high will try to settle into the Gulf Coastal region on Wednesday. The front to our west and north will start to dissipate or drift back north as a warm front. This will bring partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Not much of a change from the heat and humidity.

Highs will be in the upper 80s to mid 90s Saturday through Wednesday. Lows will be in the low to upper 70s Friday night through Wednesday night.
