Teen caught driving stolen vehicle, Kinston police seek juvenile petitions

The Kinston Police Department is working to obtain juvenile petitions after they arrested a 17-year-old caught driving a stolen vehicle last Friday.

Officers began searching for the vehicle that was reported stolen out of Greene County once they were informed it was being driven in the Kinston area.

According to KPD, the stolen vehicle was found in the 1500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Officers say the Kinston juvenile was taken into custody and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

The unidentified teen was released to a parent after being transported to Greene County.
