Who We Are

Tufts Veterinary Field Service (TVFS) is an ambulatory large animal veterinary practice located in Woodstock, CT with a joint focus on clinical service (preventing and treating illness) and teaching aspiring veterinary students from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Our clinic is part of the Department of Ambulatory Medicine and Theriogenology, that is one of the four academic departments within Cummings School.

What We Do

TVFS provides primary and emergency veterinary care on-farm to clients owning commercial, hobby and companion livestock and horses in a wide radius covering Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Specialty reproductive services for livestock and horses are also offered. We have several faculty trained across various assisted reproductive technologies to current and new clients, both in and outside of our practice area.

Teaching and service are core to our mission. Our clinical faculty promote the health and well-being of farm animals through prevention and treatment of disease, enhances the viability and sustainability of livestock-based farms and develops veterinary students’ knowledge of large animal medicine.
