As the family member of a senior who is facing a contentious rent increase in his independent living facility, I’m heartened to read seniors advocate Dan Levitt’s report.
Now the question is, will David Eby and his government put teeth into this issue on behalf of the significant number of vulnerable B.C. seniors being adversely impacted?

Re: Aging Kitsilano Pool to reopen next month, says Mayor Ken Sim.
Mayor Sim is putting huge amounts of money into a destination pool in Kits that is slowly sinking into the sea, largely because of the climate crisis.
How much more beneficial to the citizens of Vancouver would it be if he funded neighbourhood pools that we could walk or bike to.
Mount Pleasant would be a great place to start.

Many voters feel Eby has trampled on their rights
Re: Former Green leader pans B.C. Premier David Eby as out-of-touch elitist.
I agree with Andrew Weaver (Vaughn Palmer, July 4): The NDP will lose the next election.
Not only that, I dare to proclaim that Eby will lose his seat (you heard it here first.).
Not only is he an elitist, but also an autocrat trampling on the rights of individuals who have earned the right to own properties among all else.
Does he really think the voters of Vancouver-Point Grey actually support what he has been doing? I’m betting they don’t.

Number of NDP MLAs who won’t run for re-election grows
With 2 1/2 months to go before the provincial election, so far 11 B.C. NDP MLAs will not be running for re-election.
They’re all saying it’s time to spend more time with their families and to allow new fresh faces to become MLAs.
Good reasons, but with the strong popularity of the B.C. Conservative party could the real reason be that the B.C. NDP could end up as the official opposition in the legislature after sitting on the government side?
Who wants to sit another four years in opposition?

U.S. presidential candidates showing more age than wisdom
Wisdom comes with age, but age can come by itself.
Best example is the two U.S. presidential candidates. Then add their followers and include those unable to recognize that a president’s job is to make choices that improve the nation.
It’s about thinking and deciding, not appearance.
