The world of VALORANT has introduced a series of NPCs whose backstories are not currently fully developed.

Aurora Pontes[]

Aurora is a girl introduced in one of Fracture's emails[1] that revealed that she is the niece of Rúben Pontes. While her age is never specified, she is assumed to still be in school at the time of the Everett-Linde Disaster. Like her uncle, Aurora lives in Ω-Lisbon, in Pearl.

Her Email sent to Rúben was one of the earliest teasers for the map, which first told us that it would be a submerged Geodome, and that it would be from a region with a large Portuguese-speaking populace. The Email also tells us that she also plays soccer, which resulted in the speculation that the girl seen in the Onze shop in Pearl is Aurora.

Cypher's Family[]

Cypher Dossier

Nora is Cypher's wife with whom he has a child. Cypher has multiple voice lines expressing his deep affection for her and wishing he could see her again. Nora and their child are mentioned in the dossier that Fade leaves for Cypher, in which she also points out how much he misses them[2].

Some of Cypher's voicelines mention how he "lost" his family in the past; whether Nora and their child are still alive is left ambiguous. When asked about this, Narrative Lead Riot ParmCheesy said that "[he'd] seen the complete answer to this correctly theorized only once[3]". While this statement doesn't confirm anything, it does tell us that the truth is more complex than the binary choice of dead or alive.

Lucia Mondragón[]

Lucia is the younger sister of VALORANT Agent Zyanya Mondragón, AKA Reyna. She seems to be one of the main reasons why Reyna is helping the VALORANT PROTOCOL as Lucia is currently being monitored and treated by Viper[4]. In a voicemail to Brimstone, Viper expresses her worry about Lucia's condition and asks for Reyna to be sent out on missions more frequently so she can collect life energy, something Viper can then use to treat Lucia with.

It is implied via certain voice lines that Killjoy's machines might have caused the condition Lucia is in right now[5], however, this has not been confirmed. It is unclear whether Killjoy is aware of this. Despite popular assumption, there isn't much to suggest Viper did anything to hurt Lucia.

VERSUS // Reyna + Viper
The VERSUS // Reyna + Viper Playercard emphasizes the relationship between Viper and Reyna. In it, we see Viper leading a young girl (most likely Lucia) into a lab room, assumedly to help in her further treatment.

Kingdom NPCs[]

Many NPCs have had minor mentions in the various Kingdom emails that began coming out in Patch 6.02. They are, in order of appearance:

  • M. Calvin and B. Tate, two Kingdom employees who were likely a part of their transportation staff. They are familiar with Paul Delmann, with Calvin even staying at his house for some time. They are both sneakerheads, and on friendly terms with each other.
  • Sup. Griffin, a significant figure in Project Landfall, likely the project lead.
  • Dir. Akimbe, a superior to Sup. Griffin, and likely a member of the Kingdom Board. On witnessing the project's repeated failures, they ultimately communicated that Landfall was to be cancelled in its entirety.
  • L. Kozlov, Lexi, and 'Faz' Serrano, three more Kingdom employees. Kozlov expressed their worries about the increasingly confidential nature of Kingdom's projects in an email to Serrano.
  • A. Dorsey, a scientist working on Landfall. Dorsey was sent to the Vault (in Svalbard, Norway) to retrieve the radivore bear, and was killed by it. The events of the ill-fated mission were shown in the UNMADE cinematic.

Nina Cruz[]

Main article: Sunset

Nina Cruz is a host for Heatwave 94.5 radio, a station broadcasting in Los Angeles with its studio located in the heart of LA. She hosts a show titled "Cruz Control with Nina Cruz" where she covers various local news and discusses local life in a relaxed and open manner. The show is sponsored by the Hurm Burger restaurant, located on Sunset, and her broadcasts can be heard there.

Nina often refers to Tony, who is likely a sound engineer working with her.

During the accident depicted in the "SUNSET" trailer, she reports helicopters flying over the city and Radivores, which she refers to as "elfish animals" roaming the streets of Los Angeles.

Thomas Poe[]

FArchives Terminal 3.08

Thomas Poe is the Chief Engineer in charge of the Large Radian Collider in Fracture facility who mysteriously went missing around T-180. The K-Sec station on Fracture issued an announcement confirming him missing and urging personnel familiar with Poe to report to K-SEC[6]. Oran McEnnef and Ruben Pontes are summoned for a security screening as K-Sec investigates the case and are allowed to return to their duties afterwards[7].

According to a security terminal in Fracture, the last known location of Mr. Poe was in Sector 2-B, near B Site[8]. Exploring there in-game during Patch 3.08, one could find Chamber's card lying on the floor as an interactable, suggesting his involvement in Poe's disappearance. The fate of Thomas Poe is still unknown.

Adhiarja T. and Meredith W.[]

Adhiarja T. and Meredith W. and two radiants that Nathaniel Valdez (Neon's father, see above) helped with his inventions. They were mentioned in the Patch 6.06 Kingdom Email.

Doctor Santos[]

DrSantos-Email

Dr. Santos is one of the scientists that worked in Fracture. Evidence points to her being a citizen of Omega Earth and an announcement can be heard on Fracture saying she has received a message from Ω-Lisbon station[9]. She contacted Rúben Pontes in an Email to inform him about his all clear status for his trip home after the launch of the Large Radian Collider[10].

Fade's individual[]

Prior to joining the PROTOCOL, she thought that VALORANT was responsible for the disappearance of someone close to her, only referred to so far as 'Him'[11]. In revenge, Fade terrorized them with a long Blackmailing attack. We do not know anything about 'Him' other than that he is very important to Fade.

The Torsten Family[]

Breach came from a family of feared and notorious criminals, all of whom were in time caught and punished. Breach himself got off with no punishment on the grounds of his disability, causing him to strike back in anger at being considered lesser than his family. They were only mentioned in his dossier.

The Ståljeger[]

The Ståljeger (Norwegian, Steel Hunters) are a group of elite mercenaries that Deadlock was a part of. They were contracted by Kingdom as security for the mission to collect the radivore bear. All of them, save Deadlock, died at its hands in the UNMADE cinematic.

Zehra and Emil[]

Zehra and Emil are two people mentioned in Killjoy's dossier which said that they "must have been so proud" to see her accomplishments. They are implied to be her parents. This aligns with what we know of Killjoy's ethnicity - while she is German by nationality, she only has one German parent[12]; 'Zehra' is a Turkish name.
