Haven

Haven is one of the ten maps in VALORANT. Located in Thimphu Bhutan, It is a unique map for it being one of the two maps to feature three planting sites with the other one being Lotus.

Lore[]

At present, there is relatively little lore surrounding Haven. Unlike many of the other maps, there are few assets that extend beyond the playable area of the map with the majority of its content being contained within this area. The two primary roles in the map seems to play in lore regard Kingdom's involvement and the unusual environment which includes big columns that were created in the Defender Spawn which were probably the result of Radianite.

Kingdom's Involvement[]

The majority of the architecture on Haven suggests it is a relatively old site built in the style of the monasteries that are notable in Thimphu, Bhutan (where the map is located). For this particular site, Kingdom has come in and transformed the monastery for the purpose of storing radianite. From their touch can be seen several large stacks of radianite crates on both A and C site, as well as an elevator going underground on C Site to further store radianite crates. By far the most radianite can be seen on B Site where there are shelves stacked with radianite crates above the site while below the grates in the floor are further stockpiles of radianite crates.

When starting a match on Haven, Skye comments that "I can feel what this place used to be. It's dying. What a damn shame."^[1] while Raze comments "This poor place, you used to be so beautiful. Don't worry, I'll send you off with a bang."^[2]. Both agents are notorious for being anti-Kingdom and fighting back against the organization in their own home towns. As such, these comments point to Kingdom's influence having a negative effect on the monastery, likely both environmentally and culturally.

Environmental Turmoil[]

In the recent past, Haven has experienced some sort of event that caused a large amount of hexagonal rock formations to spring from the ground and strike the buildings in the area. Spreading out from Defenders' Spawn, these formations tower over the area and glow red as if molten. This event appears to have happened recently as their impact has caused fires that are still burning on A Tower, C Link, and C Site.

The Potential Cause[]

Based on a large radianite crate at the heart of the rock formations, it appears that radianite has caused this environmental anomaly. This would make Haven the first case of radianite having a direct negative effect on its surrounding environment (with the biome exacerbation on Fracture being the second) and may then also link the the environmental disaster and anomalies on OMEGA Earth that led to the sinking of Pearl.
