We waited a long time for this one - four years to be exact - but it was worth it!! Honoured to moderate the plenary sessions of the #PVC2024 in beautiful #Edinburgh - a city I hadn’t seen since swimming there for 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 at the #CommonwealthGames back in the late 80s!!! - and incredible to see how thrilling a F2F conference still is….with global perspectives on an industry that’s well ahead of the pack with #voluntarycommitments and #recycling - and steering into the (hopefully cleaner) waters of the #GlobalPlasticsTreaty currently under negotiation in #Ottawa. It was a pleasure to take part once again in the PVC 2024 conference, which for the first time was held in Edinburgh, a brilliant successor to Brighton. Thank you to IOM3 for organizing the event, which was perfect. Every 3 years, this is undoubtedly the international conference not to be missed by anyone interested in PVC and its applications. This edition was particularly dominated by the theme of sustainable development. But that's hardly surprising, given that the PVC industry has always taken its responsibilities seriously and committed itself to making progress in this area. Arkema's plastic additives team had the privilege of presenting 2 papers: one by Christelle LEYMARIE to introduce our latest breakthrough innovation in the field of processing aids for PVC foams and the other, by myself, to present our sustainability roadmap and more specifically to highlight the carbon footprint gains offered by our unique and patented “composite” acrylic impact modifiers and processing aids technology. We look forward to seeing you in 2027 in Edinburgh to present our new sustainable innovations in PVC additives. PVC 2024 conference highlights so far: - The global perspective panel discussion on opportunities/threats to the market on April 16: very useful to get the highlights on markets I don't normally look at in detail. - Ralf Eck's very interesting Global Paste PVC Market talk on the same day. - Stephane Content and Sarah Debbiche's rebuttal/analysis of the ECHA investigation into PVC and its additives on 17 April. - The great discussions I have had with attendees on the side-lines- fantastic to see such a good turnout. #PVC2024 #IOM3

Edinburgh. The conference PVC 2024 is about to round off and I already reflect on the great insights from the industry: history, achievements until today, future outlooks as well as sustainable innovation. As Daniel Ortiz Martinz pointed out in his brilliant presentation: 8 years ago 25% of the Inovyn Awards were related to sustainability, 2 years ago they represent 61%!   It has been 30 years ago since I was in this beautiful town. I am leaving Edinburgh with fond memories, especially the long early morning walks along Water of Leith. Looking forward to returning in 2027! #PVC2024 #sustainableinnovation

Kem One's Sales and R&D teams met with numerous international clients and partners at PVC 2024, the global conference dedicated to the PVC industry. 🤝150 innovation peers from the PVC sector attended the technical conference led by Patrick Morel, Kem One's CSR Manager.
