We are looking for a passionate and commercially minded Trading Analyst to join the Phones team. This is a key role in helping the team and wider business understand phones performance, identifying risks and opportunities within the phones area and maximising business benefit from phone sales.
The role reports directly to the Head of Phones and will work closely with the Merchandising Manager as well as other stakeholders throughout the business, supporting the day to day running of phone sales as well as bigger initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
Regularly report on handset performance, including volumes, activations and new initiatives
Continuously improve the communication and availability of handset performance, ensuring the format is appropriate for the relevant stakeholders
Support the Head of Phones, working closely with stakeholders across the business to maximise trading performance through owned channels, performance media and CRM
Analysis of competitor activity and trends providing insights for action and opportunities to outperform the competition and differentiate our brand
Responsible for proposing new handset price changes, gathering sales, stock and market data to optimise value generation
Accurately and regularly update forecasted sales of both new and refurbished handsets
Review new handset stock levels, ensuring we have optimum weeks of stock highlighting any risks and their impact to the business
Report on and manage any overstocks, including the creation and execution of any sell through plans
Feed into the creation of the promotional calendar for both new and refurbished handsets, optimising value for both giffgaff and its members
Manage the lifecycle of the handset portfolio, using data and insight to suggest changes
Assist the Head of Phones with obtaining product roadmaps and negotiate funding for promotional activity from vendors
Work with the Merchandising Manager to Increase vendor funding through improving vendor relationships and creating new opportunities for giffgaff and vendor collaboration
Collaborate with VMO2 so that centrally negotiated price down funding is available to giffgaff
Work with Commercial Finance and VMO2 to make sure any negotiated vendor funding is successfully collected in a timely manner

Must have:
Experience analysing data and presenting back key findings
Show a good level of commercial understanding and acumen
Experience presenting to a wide range of stakeholders
Experience working with cross-functional teams – including Finance, Marketing, Performance Media, Supply Chain and BI
Demonstrates the giffgaff values of grit, positivity, curiosity and collaboration
Other valuable skills:
An understanding of and interest in the mobile phone market would be beneficial (not essential)
