We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Sales Director to spearhead our sales operations.
Initially, this role will be as a sole contributor with the opportunity, based on performance and strategic goals, to build and lead a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS sales, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry, and a deep understanding of AI technologies. The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth.

Requirements
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals
- Act as the primary sales representative, managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the shipping industry
- Drive a consultative and solutions-oriented sales approach
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and market positioning
- Work with the marketing team to continually improve and measure the success of the sales funnel and conversion rates
- Work closely with the Customer Success and Account Management teams to ensure client satisfaction and foster successful long-term relationships
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and opportunities
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
- Depending on performance and strategic alignment, build and lead a high-performing sales team
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- Proven track record of success in SaaS sales (5 years+), preferably within the shipping or logistics industry
- Strong understanding of Generative AI technologies and their applications in the shipping sector
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the potential to inspire and motivate a sales team
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Customer Success, Account Management, and Marketing teams to ensure client success and optimize the sales funnel
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and market trends to drive informed decisions
- Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
