Who We Are

The News Movement (TNM) is a new media business bringing together leading industry figures and young, passionate journalists to help reset how we tell “the news” in an era of declining trust and increasing misinformation. We know that many voices are missing from the present conversation - we want to change that.

We are driven by our purpose - to help millions of people around the world be better informed. We will do that by solving the under-supply of trusted, objective, high-quality news and useful information on social media and other digital platforms.

To support our newsrooms we are building a sustainable news business. Our commercial teams are taking the lessons learned in the newsroom, along with our understanding of the social platforms and media consumption to help brands tell their stories.

The commercial production team are now looking to recruit a:

Creative Producer

We are looking for a Creative Producer to deliver quality content for our clients.

You will have strong creative and editorial production skills, ideally learnt in a newsroom/social media production environment.

Highly skilled in social video production, from ideation to scripting, shooting, directing and editing, you’ll have a fantastic track record of editorial production, working on your own and with a team.

From quick on the day turnarounds for TikTok, Shorts & Reels, to long form YouTube projects, this is a hands-on role producing distinctive content.

You will know your social platforms, and understand what audience behaviours mean for video production.

You will have a keen eye for new formats and trends, and know how to react to audience insights.

You will have an excellent understanding of working with creators and contributors, and be able to give direction as required.

You will play a leading role in the creative process working with our Creative Strategists, Account Managers and Social Media Managers to ensure delivery of the most impactful content for our clients.

A talented and innovative video producer, you will join a team changing the way we tell stories and producer content. Working with our editorial and creative leadership, you will play a vital role in building TNM’s place in the media landscape.

Additional Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a fast moving editorial environment.
  • Excellent editorial and video production skills
  • Great understanding of the techniques and equipment required for filming and editing (Adobe suite)
  • Experience in and/or active interest in news and current affairs is a must.
  • A great understanding of social platforms, including experience producing content for multiple platforms
  • A willingness to work beyond 9-5 and occasional travel may be required.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrable influencing and persuasion skills to deliver content in a multi-stakeholder environment

  • Able to multitask and meet project deadlines. Our business is heavily driven by deadlines and due dates. We need someone who is able to simultaneously get projects done in a timely manner and adjust to new priorities when they arise

At The News Movement we are creating a newsroom for the future - building a dynamic and diverse editorial team that will deliver quality journalism for the mobile generation.

We are rapidly growing in both the US and UK. From story selection to storytelling, we want to discover different ways of bringing people “the news”. Accurate and impartial, informative and engaging, surprising and entertaining, The News Movement will empower our audiences wherever they may be.

Our producer will understand how modern newsrooms work. They will know how to spot a story and turn it into great social content. Working with reporters and creators, designers and video producers as well as experts in community and audience engagement, they will know how to make the best social content.

We are looking for people driven by our editorial purpose (great journalism matters) and a passion for the platforms our audiences use. On TikTok or Instagram, Twitter or YouTube, Reddit or Telegram, you’ll understand how to tell stories for each platform, and you’ll know what will cut through with audiences.
