Salary: £50,730 - £79,345 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction

BBC Scotland News is looking for an assistant editor to run its network news bureau. Reporting directly to the Head of News Content, and working to the Deployment Editor in London, the network news assistant editor is responsible for the deployment, coverage, and delivery of Scottish news to network outlets.

The Network Assistant Editor manages a team of senior correspondents, producers, camera journalists; and works with the Scotland Editor as well as being a key figure in the News Content leadership team.

The successful candidate will help develop our strategy to maximise story value to all audiences as well as delivering high end original journalism and specialist analysis.
